*ER Doctors for Texas Health Resources Out of Network April 15

Texas Medicine Resources, a physician group hired by Texas Health Resources (THR) to staff their emergency rooms, issued us an ultimatum demanding an unreasonably high rate increase that would nearly double its current rate.

As a customer-owned, health insurance industry leader in Texas for 90 years, we try to negotiate rates that are in the best interest of our members. We could not agree to Texas Medicine Resources’ unreasonable demands. Therefore, as of April 15, 2019, Texas Medicine Resources will end its participation in our Blue Choice PPO^SM and Blue Essentials HMO^SM provider networks. This means the group will no longer be part of any Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) network.

If BCBSTX members receive any care from the doctors who are part of this group at one of the THR facilities listed below, they could pay significantly more out of pocket, be surprise billed or not have their charges covered at all. Members can call the customer service number on their ID card for assistance.
