BCBSTX, Collective Health Announce Plans to Deliver Streamlined, Digital Health Care Experience at Scale

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) and Collective Health announced a strategic relationship to deliver a seamless digital platform to help employers and members identify, navigate, understand and pay for the diverse services that meet their evolving health care needs. Through the collaboration, BCBSTX will bring new and existing customers access to Collective Health’s digital platform and services, beginning with self-funded customers in Illinois and Texas. In connection with the strategic relationship, BCBSTX also will invest in Collective Health, subject to regulatory approval.

BCBSTX will offer Collective Health’s integrated solution, which provides a single digital platform that enables self-funded employers to administer benefits, reduce workload, manage costs, and help manage the health of their people – all in one place. For members, Collective Health will enhance navigation, providing a personalized experience with products and features that make it easier to understand and manage their health care, from wherever they are.

We believe this relationship will fortify our commitment to make health care more accessible, affordable and simpler for employers and members, meeting their diverse needs and improving health outcomes. Key capabilities of the platform include:

The Collective Health offering will be available to Illinois and Texas employers with 1,000+ eligible employees for the 2021 sales season, to go live on Jan. 1, 2022. Existing accounts in those markets may choose this product during their annual renewal cycle.

This builds on both companies’ ongoing work to help employers and their people manage health care costs, while providing better access and understanding to their health care. Other examples of BCBSTX resources include:
