Notices Going to Some Mid-Market Groups with Discontinued Plans; FAQs Included
On March 23, 2021, we began sending discontinuation notices to group administrators and employees of Mid-Market group accounts, beginning with plans renewing on July 1, 2021. We will continue sending notices to groups 90 days before their renewal date throughout the next 12 months.
Alternate option: For affected groups, the 2021 renewal exhibit will suggest a plan similar to their current plan. If your groups have questions, see the FAQs below.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will we map accounts with a discontinued plan to a new plan?
A: We will suggest a new plan that most closely replicates the existing plan for groups whose plans will be discontinued . During 2021 renewal periods, groups can be auto-enrolled or select from one of our other plans if their current plan is being discontinued.
Q: When will groups be notified?
A: Last week, we began sending notices to groups currently enrolled in a discontinuing plan. This notice informs them that their current plans will not be available for renewal in 2021, but other options will be available.
Q: What about employees?
A: Per regulatory requirements, notices are sent to the employees of affected employer groups. The notice informs employees that their current plans will no longer be available, and their employer will have new plan options at the time of their 2021 renewal. These notices mail at the same time as employer notices.
Q: Is this a one-time mailing?
A: Employers and employees will only receive one discontinuation notice at least 90 days in advance of their renewal dates. Mailings will go on throughout the year as renewal dates approach.
