Best Practices for a Successful Renewal Cycle with Account Management
Applies to small groups
What you Need to Know:
- Go to the microsite for all your renewal, fliers and account management needs. We update the site continuously.
- Anniversary date changes, off-cycle and billing cycle changes may have important submission dates. Review the details at the microsite.
- When sending emails, include the account name and group number in the subject line.
- When responding to emails, include the issued reference number for further use.
- The small group account management team does not have access to membership and claims data. We must re-direct inquiries to the correct area — and this can add additional time before you receive a response.
- Use our contact sheet (located on the microsite) for direct phone numbers and email addresses to various service areas. New group sales should be directed to your sales contact.
- Encourage members to review and compare drug lists from year to year — to identify potential changes.
- Educate your groups on key health insurance terms such as deductible and “out of pocket” prior to open enrollment.
- Review the terms.
- Make certain that any groups electing to make plan changes fully understands that increases to the deductible and/or out-of-pocket costs may affect the member’s cost-share. Remember, these amounts are based on the calendar year, not policy year.
