Your Client Signed Up for a Health Plan, Now What?
Your clients must take a few steps to make a new health plan they’ve selected official, and they may turn to you to help officialize a new health plan they’ve selected. To cut down on repetitive phone calls to you and our call centers, we have a new website that explains your clients’ “next steps” after enrolling.
The page covers frequently asked questions such as:
- How to track application status
- How to make the first payment
- How to select a Primary Care Provider
- Note: If your client applied for HMO, they have a certain amount of time to select their PCP. If they do not choose by that day, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas will automatically choose a PCP for them. The chosen PCP will be printed on the member ID card. They can change the PCP anytime by visiting Find Care in their Blue Access for MembersSM account.
