Adjustable Commissions Coming Soon for Blue Balance FundedSM

Beginning with new business and renewals effective July 1, 2024, adjustable commissions will be available on Blue Balance Funded. This means that you can request a commission amount between $20 to $80 per employee, per month, in $5 increments instead of the default commission of $30 per employee, per month. Please familiarize yourself with the upcoming process changes using this FAQs document.

Adjustable Commissions FAQs

1. Q: When do adjustable commissions become available?
 

A: Adjustable Commissions will be available for Blue Balance Funded starting with July 1 effective dates, renewals and new business.

2. Q: What commission amounts are available?
 

A: Adjustable commissions between $20 to $80 per employee, per month in $5 increments, with initial amounts starting at the default commission of $30 per employee, per month.

3. Q: How soon should a commission adjustment request be submitted?
 

A: As soon as you receive your renewal notification to ensure we can provide revised renewal fees by the desired effective date. Renewals will initially be issued with the $30 per employee, per month default commission.

4. Q: How will this be handled for new sales?
 

A: See below:

  • Commissions will be selectable for solicitation quotes.
     
  • For an underwritten quote, a request should be submitted to change the commission from the default of $30 per employee, per month.
     
  • Further clarity will be provided on a case-by-case basis. Contact your Sales Executive for more information.
5. Q: How will this be handled for existing business?
 

A: See below:

  • Commission change requests for small group should be submitted at renewal to TXSGAM@bcbstx.com.
     
  • All renewals will be generated with the default commission. If an adjusted commission is desired, please email the Account Management Team once the renewal is received so a revised renewal can be generated.
     
  • To request an adjusted commission, communicate in writing as soon as possible with your Account Management team to ensure a timely delivery.
     
  • Paperwork must match the final commission quoted.
     
  • Please Note: Commission adjustments can ONLY be made at renewal.
