HOW IT WORKSFEATURESOVERVIEWWhy it matters?Member Rewards helps participants shop for providers or health care services and save money by comparing prices before they go for care. Best of all, shopping with Member Rewards could help lower their out-of-pocket costs and earn them credit toward their next medical procedure. TRS-ActiveCare Primary and TRS-ActiveCare Primary+ participants can:1. Use Provider Finder to find a rewards-eligible location or provider for a procedure or service. They can also call a PHG at 1-866-355-5999 for help. 2. Ask their PCP for a referral, then schedule the procedure or service or have a PHG schedule the appointment for them.3. Once they%u2019ve completed their treatment, the claim is paid and the location or provider is verified as rewards-eligible, we%u2019ll deposit their reward into an HCA.*TRS-ActiveCare HD participants can:1. Use Provider Finder to find a rewards-eligible location or provider for a procedure or service. They can also call a PHG at 1-866-355-5999 for help. 2. Schedule the procedure or service at the location or provider they chose or have a PHG schedule the appointment for them.3. Use their reward for dental or vision services. Rewards are available after they%u2019ve completed their treatment, the claim is paid and the location is verified as rewards-eligible. Once they incur dental and vision expenses, they'll fill out and submit an HCA reimbursement form. The form can be found at www.bcbstx.com/trsactivecare. Then click on the Member Rewards page under the Doctors and Hospitals tab.*BCBSTX has set up an HCA for all TRS-ActiveCare participants eligible for Member Rewards. This HCA is separate from your district%u2019s Flexible Spending Account or your Health Savings Account.There are many exciting features of Member Rewards:%u2022 The Member Rewards program is expanding to include more than facilities and procedures. Now participants can also get rewards for choosing top performing physicians for their health care. Participants can earn a maximum of $599 per year.%u2022 Unused rewards roll over to the next year, but participants will lose rewards if they cancel their health plan. %u2022 For TRS-ActiveCare Primary and TRS-ActiveCare Primary+ participants, rewards may apply toward the costs of medical or pharmacy expenses by reducing future copays or coinsurance.%u2022 Rewards for TRS-ActiveCare HD participants are paid through a limited-purpose Health Care Account and can be used toward dental and vision expenses.If a participant has a PCP in the Kelsey-Seybold provider network, they aren't eligible for this program.Prices for the same quality medical services can differ by thousands of dollars within the same region and health plan network.
